Operations Analyst

Gridware is building technology that helps utilities detect and respond to power grid disturbances before they become major outages, wildfires, or public safety incidents. By combining advanced sensing technology with real-time monitoring, we help utility operators identify issues faster and improve the reliability and safety of critical infrastructure.

We're hiring several Operations Analysts to support the monitoring of our growing fleet of grid-monitoring devices. As an Operations Analyst, you'll serve as a critical part of our 24/7 operations team, reviewing device-generated events, identifying potential issues, and escalating incidents that may impact the power grid.

This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, analytical, and thrive in fast-paced environments where their work has a direct real-world impact. Every event reviewed and every escalation made has the potential to help prevent outages, reduce wildfire risk, and improve public safety.

We are hiring across multiple shift schedules to support around-the-clock operations, with a strong preference for candidates available to work 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST.

Hourly rate (in USD): $6 - $9

Responsibilities

• Monitoring real-time data streams from field sensors and responding to alerts.
• Consistently following SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to investigate and localize real-time faults with minimal error.
• Quickly and efficiently working with Supervisors on ad-hoc data requests, and following up during ongoing investigations.

Requirements

• STEM degree (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics)
• Proficiency in English - must be able to efficiently communicate event information
• Basic understanding of data analytics and anomaly detection
• A passion for working in a fast-paced environment
• Highly motivated, proactive, able to perform duties without supervision
• Being willing to work night shifts and weekends
• Ability to work 40 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic proficiency with Python programming
• Research experience (STEM preferred)
• Experience working with metadata or data annotation
• Experience with real-time work and/or making reports
