PART TIME Assistant Manager

Summary: The Assistant Manager is a hourly employee whose primary function is the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, and to act as a representative to Regal in a way that is consistent with our mission statement and policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Regular and consistent attendance. Uphold and administer all theatre policies. Train, develop, coach and supervise non‑management employees. Perform all staff positions as required. Operate all projection and audio‑visual equipment within the theatre, both hardware and software, including film handling and maintenance. Maintain working knowledge of all booth and projection systems, including maintenance, programming, TMS operation and related projection skills. Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable. Monitor risk management as it pertains to the theatre, i.e., employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and the proper handling, reporting, and investigation of accidents. Count, deposit and reconcile all receipts taken during a business day. Know and comply with the dress code. Complete or be in the process of completing the management certification program. Review and understand the ROM. Interview, hire, schedule, coach, counsel, suspend and, with oversight, terminate cast members, properly administering all applicable paperwork and upholding all company policies as they pertain to Human Resources. Control costs, including all direct operating expenses; purchase and order concession and café stock and other supplies needed for daily operations, as well as the inventory and auditing processes involved in tracking those supplies. Supervise theatre maintenance (building and grounds, where applicable) and perform minor repairs or obtain qualified personnel for larger maintenance concerns. Market and promote feature film engagements; schedule movie show times and deliver show times to all proper channels in a timely manner. Read and understand training materials that cover sexual harassment and discrimination. Additional Duties and Responsibilities As assigned by the GM or other senior manager. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience At least three months supervisory experience, or six months theatre experience with completion of Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof, or, after showing potential leadership and/or management skills to theatre management, which is subject to VP approval. Alcohol Training If the theatre sells alcohol and you are assigned duties that include selling/serving alcohol, you must be of legal age according to state or local laws. You must complete any legally required state or local training and obtain the required certificate, including Regal’s Responsible Beverage Server training on Regal Online University. Language Ability Possess good public speaking skills. Effectively communicate in both oral and written form with employees, vendors, corporate staff, etc., listen effectively, respond clearly and directly, and explain information to others. Math Ability Perform calculations with speed and accuracy, and identify and correct errors. Reasoning Ability Identify problems, gather relevant data, and note possible causes. Evaluate information, recognize alternatives, reach conclusions based on evidence, recommend solutions, take action beyond what is necessary, and perform tasks with minimal supervision while under pressure. Computer and Office Skills Proven experience with PC platforms and basic office programs (e‑mail, word processing, spreadsheets). Operate copiers and other office equipment, devise and maintain filing systems with attention to detail, and perform mechanical tasks as necessary. Personal Skills Interface effectively with customers, the public, and co‑workers, exhibiting sensitivity to the feelings of others. Establish goals, budget time, and set priorities to achieve desired objectives. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise an unspecified number of employees. Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Regal’s policies and applicable laws, including training, coaching, performance appraisal, rewarding, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and disciplining employees under the direction of the General Manager or senior manager. Responsibilities may include interviewing and hiring as directed. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, sitting, use of hands for handling, reaching, talking, and hearing. Occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Regularly lift up to 60 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
