Custodian for L.E.A.D. Academy

Job Goal: To maintain school system buildings and grounds in a clean, safe condition.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read instructions and write brief reports
• Ability to use technology and operate machinery associated with position
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member with large and/or diverse groups
• Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to climb, stoop, bend, and lift as needed
• Proficiency in oral, written, electronic communications and able to use various technological devices/software associated with the position
• Such alternative qualifications to those listed as the board may require

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

1. Demonstrates support for the school system, its purpose, direction, and priorities
2. Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and to prioritize tasks
3. Maintains confidentiality of any Board of Education business, its staff, and its students
4. Demonstrates and models regular and predictable attendance
5. Demonstrates professionalism in appearance and in attitude
6. Demonstrates the ability to use technology for communication and job responsibilities as required
7. Keeps building and grounds clean and neat (sidewalks, entrances, offices, restrooms, etc.)
8. Performs preventative maintenance (cleaning filters, vents, etc.)
9. Reports maintenance needs to Administrative Assistant
10. Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors according to schedules provided
11. Dusts furniture regularly according to schedules provided
12. Cleans and disinfects all restrooms and restroom equipment
13. Cleans windows
14. Disinfects chairs in conference room, tables, and counters throughout building
15. Cleans baseboards
16. Buffs and waxes floors as needed
17. Maintains flexibility with schedule and work hours if needed
18. Empties and cleans shredders
19. Reports potential problems, unusual events or work irregularities to appropriate administrative or supervisory personnel
20. Responds to inquiries, requests, constructive feedback, concerns, and/or complaints in a timely and positive manner
21. Properly uses and cares for tools, equipment and materials resources of the school
22. Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with board policies and procedures
23. Maintains inventory of needed supplies, equipment, and tools and notifies appropriate personnel when re-stocking or replacements are needed
24. Performs other job-related duties as directed by the supervisor(s)

Salary: Based on L.E.A.D. Academy's Salary Schedule

Terms of Employment: Negotiable
