Global organizations and regulated industries trust RRD to reduce complexity and drive audience connections across the entire customer journey.Job DescriptionRRD has an immediate opening for an experienced Accounting Clerk to work in our Houston, TX facility!Job SummaryUnder general supervision, the duties may include: maintaining or posting records in hard copy or automated systems; screening, reviewing, verifying, and coding accounting transaction documents; verifying and examining accounting records; correcting errors in posting entries, computations, and balances; reconciling balances, records, and documents, preparing summaries, statements, and reports.ResponsibilitiesReview invoices and statements, verify information, ensure funds are available, and, if questionable, resolve with submitting unit, determining accounts involved, coding transactions, and processing material for application in the accounting system.Perform difficult coding where judgment, based on advanced knowledge, must be applied and/or serves as a resource for other staffPosts financial information to journals, registers, ledgers, and other related records; makes adjustments, prepares trial balances, and reconciles accounts.Audit ledgers and accounts maintained by othersMay researches and prepares stop paymentsPrepare, or assist in preparing, financial statements or reports (such as cash flow, cash receipts, disbursement, sales, transfers, or accounts receivable)Reconciles reports from outside agencies and operating units by contacting units and researching causes of discrepancies and taking action to ensure that accounts agree.Compose correspondence requiring knowledge of departmental procedures, practices, and policies and the interpretation of such.May provide guidance and instruction to junior-level Accounting Clerks.Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.QualificationsEducation - Min/Preferred - High School or GED.Years of Experience - Minimum - 5-+ years of relevant administrative/operational support in manufacturing operations or office environment directly related to the duties of the job, or demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of work experience.Minimum of 2+ years of Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable experience.Familiarity with the month-end close process.Must be comfortable working with Excel.Knowledge of accounting systems.SAP, JDE, Oracle or similar ERP systems experience is strongly preferred.Able to apply a thorough knowledge of accounting techniquesCompile complex financial records and prepare routine financial reports or statementsRequires excellent knowledge of the functional area(s) related to the job or good knowledge related to a professional field of work.Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively across departments when completing assignments.Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload and make adjustments to meet business needs.Work independently and exercise judgment in completing assignmentsAdditional InformationRRD's current salary range for this role is $45,300 to $65,300 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
