Work Environment

This role will primarily involve outpatient client interactions, conducted through remote sessions to provide flexibility and safety for our clients. Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual, couples, and family therapy services tailored to clients seeking outpatient care, focusing on privacy and comfort during sessions.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' mental health needs and relationship dynamics, then develop personalized treatment plans that set measurable goals for therapy.
• Employ family systems theory along with systemic interventions to address various issues including relational dynamics, communication problems, and family stressors.
• Offer immediate support and crisis intervention to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and their families in critical situations.
• Document all client interactions with precision, maintaining confidential records, progress notes, and treatment plans that adhere to legal and ethical standards.
• Educate clients in effective communication techniques, conflict resolution methods, and coping strategies to bolster their relational health and emotional resilience.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers to promote an integrated treatment approach for clients, sharing insights and strategies to enhance their care.
• Commit to ongoing professional development by keeping abreast of the latest research and best practices in marriage and family therapy through continuous education.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will engage primarily with adults and child/adolescent populations, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns from anxiety and depression to family trauma and transition issues. Your work will directly impact these clients' lives, providing them with the tools to improve their mental health and interpersonal relationships, ultimately enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) within the state of Maryland is mandatory.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related discipline is required.
• A minimum of three years of relevant experience working in the mental health field, delivered in an outpatient therapy setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills conducive to building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• A strong commitment to ethical practices, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering a supportive therapy environment.
• Ability to function both independently and as part of a collaborative clinical team.
• Willingness to accommodate flexible scheduling options to suit client appointments.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in managing outpatient therapy services, particularly with couples and families.
• Background in utilizing various therapeutic approaches and interventions to assist clients effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

Life Edge Counseling Services offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
