Senior Accountant

Client Overview Our client, a large manufacturing organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will be technically strong, comfortable taking ownership of financials, and familiar with SOX, U.S. GAAP, and cost accounting processes.
Salary/Hourly Rate $80k - $95k
Position Overview The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Director and support both general accounting and cost accounting processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to take the next step in their career while gaining exposure to financial reporting, internal controls, audits, and manufacturing accounting operations.
Responsibilities Of The Senior Accountant

• Support monthly closing and financial reporting by preparing routine and complex journal entries, consolidating legal entities, and reviewing accountant-prepared entries to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare monthly internal financial reports, including financial and statistical information for management.
• Manage annual financial statements, including footnotes, and maintain the ERP system for financial statement preparation, footnotes, and statistical reporting.
• Coordinate quarterly and annual schedules and footnotes.
• Conduct internal audit control self-assessment reviews, resolve SOX-related audit issues, and ensure balance sheet account integrity through accurate review and preparation of audit schedules for external auditors.
• Assist with cost accounting processes and procedures as needed; conduct and analyze variance analysis on inventory transactions and controls.
• Ensure month-end close periods are accurate, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll-forwards in accordance with reporting deadlines.
• Support LIFO and FIFO cost updates and confirm all costs are updated within the internal ERP system.
