Position Summary This is a Canine Handler position in the Southwest Region based at Lee State Prison in Leesburg, Georgia. The selected applicant must reside within 50 miles of the prison. Responsibilities Train and care for working canines to perform functions such as detecting controlled substances, attacking, or tracking in a correctional or law enforcement environment. Maintain training records and equipment. Conduct routine physical and agility tests for handler‑dog teams. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and meet prerequisites for Basic Law Enforcement Training Program certification, or two (2) years of experience in law enforcement or a related field and Georgia P.O.S.T. certification.
