Job Summary

The Front Counter Customer Service Associate provides a professional first impression, assisting walk-in and phone customers with equipment sales, parts identification, and service check-ins. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, administrative efficiency, and sales ability.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Greet all guests promptly, answer multi-line phone calls, and respond to email inquiries regarding equipment availability, parts, and repair status.
• Equipment & Parts Sales: Assist customers in selecting mowers, trimmers, or chainsaws that fit their needs. Use manufacturer portals (e.g., Gravely/Ariens, Wright, Echo, Honda ) to look up and sell replacement parts.
• Service Coordination: Act as a "Service Writer" by checking in equipment for repair, creating detailed work orders for technicians, and notifying customers when repairs are complete.
• Point of Sale (POS) Management: Process cash, credit, and financing transactions accurately. Manage the cash drawer and provide daily banking reports if required.
• Showroom & Inventory: Maintain a clean, organized showroom with up-to-date displays and clearly labeled pricing. Assist with receiving freight and restocking shelves.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Communication: Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills to handle diverse customer needs and occasional complaints with professionalism.
• Technical Literacy: Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn complex dealership management software and manufacturer parts look-up systems.
• Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for long periods and lift or maneuver equipment, often up to 50–75 lbs.
• Experience: Prior retail sales experience is preferred, ideally in the OPE, automotive, or agricultural industries.
