Outdoor Education FacilitatorOutdoor Education Facilitators create memorable learning experiences for 5th - 8th grade students attending the outdoor education program at Alliance Redwoods. Facilitators lead hands on science classes, recreational activities, challenge courses, and team building classes.Description of DutiesIncluding but not limited to:Lead outdoor science classes that align with program curriculum for students in 5th - 8th gradeFacilitate recreational activities including hiking, games, and team building initiativesOperate challenge course elements following established safety standardsEnsure participant safety by following camp policies, emergency procedures, and risk management practicesRun activities for camp guest groups (age range may vary) on weekends as neededAssist in other areas of camp as neededQualificationsMust be 18 years or olderHigh school diploma or equivalent required, coursework in education or environmental science preferredCPR/First Aid/AED Certification (training provided if needed)Communicate effectively with fellow staff, teachers, students, and guest groupsExperience working with youth preferredRequirement:Complete and pass required trainingsWork comfortably in a harness at heights of up 200ftLift and carry 50lbs or more on a regular basisWork in varying weather conditionsMust be in harmony with Alliance Redwoods statement of faithMust pass background checkCompensation: $18 per hour
