Education Aide
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–3:30 PM
Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a c ompassionate, dependable, and student-focused Education Aide to join our educational team and provide meaningful support to students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
As an Education Aide, you'll work alongside teachers and multidisciplinary professionals to create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment where students can learn and grow. You'll provide individualized and small-group support, assist with classroom instruction and behavior strategies, and help students develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and personally.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience working with children, particularly children with behavioral challenges, preferred.
- Valid driver's license required .
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to challenging behaviors.
- Commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for students.

Education-Based Pay

- Associate's degree: Starting at $18.00/hour, with additional compensation based on experience
- Bachelor's degree: Starting at $19.50/hour, with additional compensation based on experience
- Master's degree: Starting at $21.00/hour, with additional compensation based on experience

Key Responsibilities
Student Support & Classroom Engagement
- Assist teachers with implementing lesson plans, classroom expectations, and structured teaching strategies.
- Support students in developing academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and independent living skills.
- Promote age-appropriate social skills, self-care, problem-solving, coping skills, and emotional regulation.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students.
- Serve as a consistent and positive role model.
- Help create a safe, structured, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
Academic & Behavioral Support
- Support classroom management and maintain appropriate structure and routines.
- Assist with the implementation of IEPs, Behavioral Support Plans, strategy sheets, and other individualized supports.
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers and other members of the student's team.
- Support students in developing appropriate behaviors and coping strategies.
- Utilize positive, evidence-based approaches to support student engagement and success.
Crisis Intervention & Safety
- Respond appropriately to behavioral and crisis situations while maintaining student and staff safety.
- Utilize approved de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
- Participate in required seclusion and restraint procedures when necessary.
- Maintain required crisis intervention, CPR, First Aid, and TFM certifications.
- Follow all safety procedures and agency standards.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with teachers, clinicians, behavioral staff, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, student meetings, daily debriefings, staff meetings, and committees.
- Maintain familiarity with student case records and individualized plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Collaborate with agency staff and external professionals to ensure student needs are addressed.
- Represent Best Point professionally in all interactions.
Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete required documentation accurately and within established timelines.
- Assist with educational materials, classroom preparation, and organization.
- Support accurate documentation related to student services and progress.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with agency, educational, and regulatory requirements.
Professional Growth & Quality
- Accept and apply feedback from teachers, supervisors, and leadership.
- Develop skills and knowledge related to education, behavioral health, and working with students with complex needs.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow agency policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Work Environment
This position works primarily in a school and educational setting with regular interaction with children experiencing behavioral, emotional, developmental, or mental health challenges.
Employees may encounter challenging behaviors, including shouting and verbal or physical aggression. The position may also involve exposure to blood, vomit, and other bodily fluids.
Education Aides must be able to remain calm, professional, and focused on student safety and support during challenging situations.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
The position regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees must be capable of sustained physical exertion and able to participate in required physical restraint techniques and exercises when necessary to ensure the safety of students and staff.
