Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized post-anesthesia care to surgical patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. Ensure safe recovery, monitor vital signs, and manage patient needs during the post-operative phase.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition and monitor vital signs during recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Coordinate with anesthesia, surgical, and ICU teams to ensure seamless care.
• Document patient status and interventions accurately in the EMR system.
• Manage patient transfer to appropriate units or ICU post-recovery.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including code blue events.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license without restrictions.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required for inpatient, outpatient PACU, and Surgery Center.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU or critical care nursing experience.
• Ability to interpret cardiac strips and recognize clinical deterioration.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong assessment and rapid decision-making skills.
