Position Title State Operations Director Job Summary The State Operations Director will oversee the operations of canvassing, voter registration, and relational organizing projects across the United States, working closely with project leadership and the RFS National Operations team to manage administrative, operational, HR, and supply needs. The role reports directly to the Project Director and is in-person throughout the duration of each assigned project. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily and long-term project operations, often involving multiple offices within a region or state. Manage a team of regional, in-office Operations Associates. Collaborate with the Project Director and National Operations team to implement robust HR and operational processes. Manage project-specific payroll records for all employees through the Paycom platform. Ensure efficient allocation of supplies and resources throughout the program. Qualifications 1‑3 years of management, operations, or administrative experience. Ability and willingness to work a demanding schedule, which can reach 70+ hours per week at peak times and may include evenings and weekends. Must possess a cell phone and laptop. Must have ready access to personal transportation and provide proof of driver’s insurance. Must be able to travel and/or relocate to project locations across the country on short notice; travel, lodging, and related expenses are provided by RFS. Plus Qualifications Demonstrated ability to manage a growing and complex organization’s operational needs. Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Highly detail-oriented and able to manage multiple processes simultaneously. Ability to think and act creatively and flexibly in a fast‑paced and high‑pressure environment. Familiarity with Google Suite, ATS, and HRIS software is preferred. Essential Physical Requirements The position may entail additional travel. Vision and hearing abilities are required. Benefits Full health, dental, and vision coverage for full-time employees who remain with the team for more than three months. All job‑related travel, lodging, and other expenses are paid by RFS. Work Location & Schedule Location: On‑site, North Carolina. Schedule: Full-time (40 or more hours per week, can reach 70+ hours at peak times). Salary $66,000 – $90,000 per year, depending on experience and skill sets.
