Activities Assistant The Activities Assistant provides assistance in all activity functions, ensuring that an ongoing program of activities meets the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well‑being of each resident, in accordance with company and federal, state, and local standards. Essential Activities and Tasks Care Management and Service Delivery - 70% Performs day-to-day activity functions to provide programming that meets residents’ interests and well‑being. Encourages and assists residents to participate in hobbies and crafts. Assists bed‑bound residents by delivering letters, providing hobby materials, etc. Makes routine visits to residents and assists with crafts and projects. May assist with transporting residents to/from dining areas. May accompany residents to off‑site activities, including loading, unloading, and transporting them. Interacts with residents to ensure quality care and positive resident‑staff relations. Maintains open, trust‑building relationships with resident family members, responding professionally and promptly to requests or concerns. Communicates with residents or family members to obtain activity information. Provides reading materials in Braille, tapes, and recordings as needed. Operations Management - 20% Coordinates scheduled parties, movies, games, and other activities. Assists in developing an evening activity schedule. Completes individual monthly activity logs for activities led. Communicates needs for supplies and equipment. Attends all‑employee and departmental meetings and in‑service training as scheduled. Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management - 10% Develops and oversees written plans of care for each resident and ensures all activity progress notes are charted, informative and descriptive. Maintains and reviews all charts, notes, and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Maintains confidentiality of resident information and honors residents’ personal and property rights. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience One year activities experience preferred. Two years experience in a long‑term care, hospital, or related healthcare setting preferred. Other Requirements Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Working Conditions and Special Requirements Sitting – up to 8 hours/day Standing – up to 8 hours/day Walking – up to 8 hours/day Lifting, transferring, pushing or pulling residents/patients and/or equipment/supplies – up to 50 pounds Driving – up to 4 hours/day Work weekends, evenings, and holidays – required as scheduled Occasional exposure to residents/patients with various disease processes May be exposed to infectious waste, disease, conditions, including AIDS and Hepatitis B – work day Risk Category for Exposure to Bloodborne Diseases – II #J-18808-Ljbffr Ohio Living
