Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations, company policy, and established procedures. Verify the identity of residents receiving medication, and record medication name, dosage, and time of administration on resident charts. Present medication to residents, observe ingestion or application, and administer medication as required. Take vital signs or observe residents to detect responses to medications, preparing reports or notifying personnel of unexpected reactions. Report to the Wellness Director and document reasons for non‑administration of prescribed drugs. Receive supplies of ordered medications, record and restock medication inventories, and count narcotics at the start and end of shifts. Notify the Wellness Director immediately of any inventory discrepancies. Assist caregivers during mealtimes with tray passing, pick‑up of trays, and feeding as appropriate. Respond promptly to call lights. Monitor the effectiveness of PRN medications and report outcomes to the Wellness Director. Assist residents with activities of daily living—including personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, ambulation, and medical monitoring—within state regulations. Ensure resident safety and maintain a safe environment. Promote self‑help and independence by encouraging residents to attain high physical, mental, and psychosocial well‑being. Observe changes in residents’ condition or behavior and promptly report to nursing personnel, supervisors, or medical staff. Perform first aid and initiate emergency response procedures when required. Follow and support community fire safety, infection control practices, and report unsafe conditions promptly. Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously and answer phones when assigned. Attend required training, in‑services, staff meetings, and online training sessions. Perform other related duties as reasonably assigned by the supervisor or executive director. Qualifications Ability to communicate clearly with residents and nursing staff. Proficiency in reading and writing English. Capacity for independent decision‑making when needed. Diplomatic interaction skills with personnel, residents, visitors, and the public. Calm and composed demeanor in emergencies. Professional grooming and a pleasant demeanor. Willingness to adopt new methods and incorporate them into existing practices. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Knowledgeable in the use of computers, e‑mail, spreadsheets, and word‑processing. Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a supportive attitude toward residents, staff, and visitors. Benefit details are available upon request.
