Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology to join our healthcare team in Detroit, United States. As an OncoStat Registered Nurse, you will deliver exceptional clinical care to cancer patients with unwavering dedication, demonstrating professional expertise, empathy, and organizational excellence. • Passionately assess and monitor patients' physical and emotional health status with meticulous attention to detail, documenting findings accurately in electronic health records to ensure continuity of exceptional care
• Expertly administer chemotherapy and other oncology medications according to established protocols and physician orders, demonstrating your commitment to delivering the highest standard of cancer treatment
• Provide compassionate direct patient care including wound care, IV therapy, and symptom management, driven by your dedication to alleviating suffering and improving quality of life
• Educate patients and their families with genuine care about treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies, empowering them to navigate their cancer journey with confidence and hope
• Collaborate enthusiastically with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including oncologists, social workers, and palliative care specialists, united in your shared passion for comprehensive cancer patient care
• Vigilantly monitor patients for adverse reactions and complications, reporting changes promptly to the clinical team with the urgency that reflects your commitment to patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Maintain a safe and organized patient care environment while adhering to infection control standards, creating a healing space where patients feel secure and valued
• Demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment in prioritizing patient needs and managing multiple patients efficiently, balancing compassion with professional excellence
• Support patients' emotional and psychological well-being through authentic, compassionate communication and active listening, recognizing the profound impact of your presence during their cancer treatment
• Actively participate in ongoing professional development and maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing best practices, fueling your passion for delivering cutting-edge, evidence-based cancer care

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical equipment
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care
• Knowledge of oncology nursing principles and cancer care protocols
• Experience with IV therapy and medication administration
• Preferred: Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience
• Preferred: Knowledge of chemotherapy administration and handling
• Preferred: Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or willingness to pursue certification
• Preferred: Experience with palliative and end-of-life care
