Production Team Lead

Position Summary Responsible for overseeing production output for assigned employees while also meeting individual performance expectations. Compensation $21.50 per hour Duties & Responsibilities Monitor tool flow by work type within the assigned area, maintaining accurate hour‑by‑hour production charts and reporting to the manager at agreed intervals Order parts for the assigned area by completing part requisition forms according to the designated ordering schedule Audit workbenches daily to ensure proper reset at the end of each shift, including correct placement of parts and tools and verification that all tools and fixtures are in good working order Immediately notify the manager of any tools or fixtures that are not functioning properly Ensure parts are stored in correct bins and properly located on benches according to standard layouts and 5S requirements Continuously identify, generate, and implement process improvements Document parts defects and overages or shortages using appropriate forms and attach parts as required for management review Maintain necessary materials such as packing supplies and material handling equipment Assist with quality control activities for all products within the assigned area Enter production data into Access systems for TapeTech Production or Ames, as required Assist with training new employees and cross‑training team members within the area of responsibility Support qualification and scrapping of tools as required for Ames production Maintain accountability for both team production output and individual performance Basic Qualifications High school diploma or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and managers Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals Ability to apply common‑sense reasoning to follow detailed instructions and resolve standardized problems Ability to shift priorities and adapt to fluctuating workloads Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong mechanical aptitude Effective time management and organizational skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Participation in Lean Production initiatives Core Competencies Demonstrate trust and integrity by striving to do the right thing Practice servant leadership by putting the needs of others first and valuing diverse perspectives Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Ability to lead, execute, and/or delegate tasks as needed Establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization Champion an inclusive work environment by empowering others and valuing diverse backgrounds and experiences Ability to self‑manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers and customers Physical Requirements Regular standing throughout the workday Frequent walking, use of hands for handling and reaching, and verbal communication Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 100 pounds Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Required Cognitive Skills Ability to problem‑solve and prioritize tasks Ability to manage stress related to deadlines and ongoing projects Ability to multitask Ability to receive and analyze information Ability to quickly communicate solutions when problems occur Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative Job Location Ames Tool Corporation - Suwanee 1327 Northbrook Parkway Suite 400 Suwanee, GA 30024 Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement As an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer SRS Distribution Inc., including all its subsidiaries, provides job opportunities to qualified individuals without regard to actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, gender, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, citizenship status, uniform service, veteran status, marital status, genetic information, physical or mental disability, or any other characteristic in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local EEO laws.
