Desktop Support SpecialistThe Desktop Support Specialist is the first person our team calls when technology gets in the way of building. You'll keep NOVO's people productive by troubleshooting computers, phones, printers and conferencing gear, setting up new hires, and making sure every employee, whether in the office or on a jobsite, has tools that just work. The ideal candidate loves solving problems, explains technical issues clearly, and wants to build a career in IT.Reporting to the IT Manager, you'll be based in our Austin office and support Austin-area job sites. You'll work alongside a small, experienced IT team that will invest in your growth, using modern cloud-based and AI-assisted tools to support a fast-moving construction company.Within your first year at NOVO, you'll own the day-to-day desktop experience for our Austin team. You'll learn how IT supports commercial construction from preconstruction through closeout, and you'll grow your skills in endpoint management, security, and systems administration.We offer comprehensive benefits extending beyond medical, dental and vision coverage, including community involvement, continued learning, and a path to advance within IT.Duties And ResponsibilitiesEnd-User Support• Be the friendly first point of contact for technology issues, in person and remotely • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues on Windows and macOS • Support mobile devices, printers, and conference room technology • Document what you fix so the whole team gets fasterOnboarding & Equipment• Prepare, deploy, and recover laptops and mobile devices for new hires and departing employees • Walk new employees through their equipment and tools on day one • Maintain accurate hardware inventory and coordinate repairs and warranty claimsJobsite Technology• Set up and support technology in jobsite trailers, including connectivity, printers, and shared devices • Help field teams get the most out of the construction software they use every day • Visit active Austin-area job sites as neededSecurity & Best Practices• Follow established security procedures when handling devices, accounts, and data • Help employees spot phishing and other security risks, and escalate concerns promptly • Keep devices up to date and compliant with company standardsTeam & Growth• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff with clear, thorough notes • Contribute to our internal knowledge base and process documentation • Learn continuously, with support for training and industry certificationsSkills And Qualifications• 1+ year of hands-on IT support experience (help desk, desktop support, retail tech support, or equivalent). A college degree is not required. • Solid troubleshooting skills across Windows and macOS • Genuine curiosity and a love of figuring out why something is broken • Patient, clear communicator who can help non-technical users without making them feel rushed • Organized and dependable, able to juggle multiple requests in a fast-paced environment • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for jobsite visits • CompTIA A+ or similar certification is a plus, not a requirement • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.Compensation And Benefits• Full time: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, in the office/job site • Insurance Package: Medical, Dental and Vision • 401(k) • Paid Vacation Time • Paid Holidays • Sick Time • Gym Subsidy • Professional development and certification support
