Adjunct Faculty - First-Year Writing, Department of Writing Arts

Position The Department of Writing Arts seeks qualified adjuncts to teach courses in first-year writing and possibly courses in technical and professional writing. Starting Date: September 1, 2025 Responsibilities Teach courses in first-year writing and possibly courses in technical and professional writing. Qualifications A master’s degree is required in the field of Composition/Rhetoric or a related field, such as English, Creative Writing, Literacy Studies, or Urban Education. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience teaching college writing or professional writing, favorable recommendations from references, and favorable previous student evaluations. Language fluency (oral) in Spanish and experience working with developmental writers are particularly desired. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor a visa for this position. Pay & Benefits In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,100 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year.
