Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - Acute Care

Job Summary: Provide compassionate direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Assist patients with daily living activities, treatment, and support the nursing unit's operations in a dynamic acute care environment.

Essential Functions:

• Address patients' physical, sensory, cognitive, and psychological needs, adhering to age-specific competency standards.
• Engage family members or significant others as part of the care team when appropriate.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and communicate unmet needs to staff.
• Assist with bathing, positioning, and other activities of daily living.
• Follow delegation protocols when receiving tasks from team members.
• Interpret charts, equipment settings, and medical documentation accurately.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, families, and colleagues both in person and via telephone.
• Collect non-invasive specimens and record vital signs.
• Support nursing and medical staff during procedures.
• Document patient care using electronic medical records.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance and demonstrate flexibility by floating to other departments as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the relevant state.
• Preferred: One or more years of experience in a patient care setting.

• Demonstrate punctuality and complete assigned tasks within designated timelines.
• Exhibit respectful, courteous, and helpful communication with patients, guests, and staff.
