Diesel Technician/Mechanic

This job was posted by : For more information, please see: GP Transco is seeking a Mid-Shift Diesel Technician for our mid-shift maintenance team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 8 trucks and trailers, helping keep our drivers safe and our fleet operating reliably. Were looking for someone who takes pride in quality work, communicates well with teammates, and follows through on repairs. What Youll Do - Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers. - Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using diagnostic software and shop equipment. - Service and repair braking, suspension, steering, cooling, air, and electrical systems. - Troubleshoot engine and emissions/aftertreatment issues, including DPF, DEF, and SCR systems. - Identify safety concerns and communicate repair needs to maintenance leadership. - Complete accurate repair orders and document work performed, parts used, and additional issues found. - Coordinate with the maintenance team to prioritize repairs and return equipment to service. - Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow shop safety procedures. What Were Looking For - Previous hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks. - Working knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance. - Experience using diagnostic tools and interpreting fault codes. - Ability to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs with appropriate supervision. - Dependable attendance and availability to work the posted mid-shift schedule. - Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills. - Valid drivers license. Preferred Qualifications - Diesel technology training or relevant technical certifications. - Experience maintaining Class 8 fleet equipment. - Trailer maintenance and repair experience. - CDL Class A or B. Work Environment This is a hands-on shop position involving standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working around heavy equipment.
