We are Alpha Supported Living Services, a non-profit organization, we provide residential and community-based services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our primary objective at Alpha is to enhance the quality of life for each of our clients by aiding them in learning, personal development, and fostering increased independence. Since 1974, we've been dedicated to offering supported living, group home, community inclusion, and representative payee services, expanding our reach across King, Snohomish, and Spokane counties in Washington State. The HR Trainer is responsible for conducting training, recruiting, compliance, and staff development. This position entails a great deal of customer service and requires superior attention to detail. The HR Trainer interacts with program participants and must be familiar with the Guiding Values issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). At all times, the HR Trainer will seek to act in accord with the principles and values expressed in the guidelines and uphold the agency mission.

Day-to-Day

• Conduct training to ensure employees are properly trained to support client needs by facilitating assigned courses
  • Obtain and maintain certification/approvals necessary to facilitate classes on behalf of the agency
  • Create and distribute class schedules, training memos and other relevant documentation. Track and issue completion certificates; Compile and enter training records into HRIS
  • Monitor compliance requirements; run reports and analyze data; contact employees to schedule training
  • Compile, produce and maintain training materials
• Conduct bi-weekly 3 day New Hire Orientation
  • Oversee communication with New Hires
  • Process all related new hire paperwork and create employee files
  • Follow up on and ensure all requirements are completed
• Complete individual training requirements annually and maintain certifications and licensures, as required
• Attend mandatory training to complete:
  • First Aid / CPR
  • Blood borne pathogens
  • Mandated reporter

Who We Are Looking For

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
• The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand
• Possess intermediate computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and use new software

Job Requirements

• Associate's degree and one year experience performing general administrative or human resources functions or at least 2 years of experience performing general business or human resources functions and 1 year of training experience
• Have a Washington State Driver's license, current vehicle insurance and able to be covered on Alpha Supported Living Services' automobile insurance plan based upon his/her driving record
• Background inquiry clearance from an authorized state agency

Starting Wage: All HR Trainers will start at $26.00/hr.

Wage Scale: $26.00 - $31.60

Benefits: Benefits for Full-Time Employees (30 hours or more a week) include Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b) (non-profit version of a 401(k)) with company match, Life Insurance, Tuition Savings Program, and Tuition Reimbursement. Employees working 34 or more hours a week are eligible for PTO accrual.
