What You'll Do

As a Lung Nodule Clinic Coordinator, you will report to the Manager or designee. Responsible for follow-up and care coordination of patients with lung nodules found through various avenues including, but not limited to high-risk lung screenings, and incidental findings. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including pulmonologists, radiologists, primary care providers and surgeons, to ensure timely evaluation and diagnosis of patients to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Lung Nodule Clinic Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinates interdisciplinary care conferences for review of lung nodule cases.
• Manages lung nodule patient database and ensures recommended follow-up steps are completed.
• Engages patients who miss scheduled follow-up imaging to support continuity of care.
• Assists in development and implementation of lung nodule management protocols and guidelines.
• Collects and tracks newly identified lung nodules from low-dose CT, incidental findings, and referrals.
• Serves as liaison between providers, clinic team, and patients; coordinates scheduling of procedures and follow-up care.
• Compiles, analyzes, and reports data on trends, utilization, and outcomes.
• Prepares reports and presentations on clinic performance metrics for stakeholders.
• Reports variance trends and outcomes to stakeholders and physician reviewers for action.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and community outreach for lung cancer screening, awareness, and prevention.

What You Bring

As a Lung Nodule Clinic Coordinator, it requires thorough knowledge of oncology and pulmonology clinical care practices, procedures, and techniques, along with an understanding of counseling methods and the ability to identify and utilize appropriate resources. Demonstrates strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills to effectively counsel patients and families, as well as strong interpersonal skills to maintain cooperative and professional relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff, and the public. Exhibits sensitivity and tact when working with patients and their families. Requires strong time management and problem-solving abilities to independently prioritize and organize work activities while performing effectively under pressure. Demonstrates computer proficiency to effectively use and support various clinical and administrative software systems.

Required Qualifications

• The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of an accredited nursing program. A current license to practice as an RN in Indiana is required. A minimum of three years of experience in oncology, pulmonary medicine, or a related field is preferred. Experience in care coordination or case management is preferred.
