Entry Level Food Production Associate

Are you dependable, hardworking, and looking to start a career in food production? Our client in Frazier, MI is seeking an Entry Level Food Production Associate to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn multiple areas of food production and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation including chopping, peeling, mixing, cooking, and ingredient storage
• Prepare and build food items according to recipes and production instructions
• Measure and mix ingredients while monitoring production processes
• Ensure product quality and consistency by following recipes and guidelines
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) food storage procedures
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
• Support culinary staff with workstation setup and breakdown
• Complete production paperwork including cooking/cooling logs, sanitation logs, and pH readings
• Retrieve and verify correct packaging materials and labels
• Package, label, palletize, and store finished products accurately
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Assist with sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, and general cleaning
• Restock ingredients, supplies, and cleaning products
• Help monitor inventory levels and report shortages
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen equipment preferred
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced setting
• Willingness to cross-train in multiple departments
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
• Comfortable working in wet and cold environments (3540 degrees)
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred
• Food manufacturing or processing experience is a plus, but not required
• Knife skills and meat cutting experience are a plus, but not required
• Experience with SOPs, GMPs, or SQF standards is a plus, but not required

Special Requirements

• Hire-in opportunity after 520 hours
• Slip-resistant shoes required
• No jewelry or nails permitted
• Hair must be pulled back
• Hair net and smock provided
• Jeans or work pants required
• Work-appropriate shirt required

1st shift: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, Monday-Friday $14.80 a hour
