Research Technician

Position Summary The Schisler Lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Research Technician to support ongoing projects involving molecular biology, cell culture, and protein analysis. Key Responsibilities Assist with experimental design and execution. Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and gel electrophoresis. Maintain mammalian cell culture and transfection procedures. Conduct protein purification and related analyses. Minimum Qualifications Strong educational background in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. Previous laboratory experience. Hands‑on experience with protein purification methods. Experience with recombinant protein expression and purification from E. coli. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Work Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with core availability between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM daily. Additional Details Position type: Temporary staff (SHRA). Hours per week: 40.
