Port Royal Club, located in the heart of the prestigious Port Royal neighborhood in south Naples, Florida, is a private beach club dedicated to luxury, leisure, and exceptional service. Membership is exclusively tied to property ownership within the Port Royal community, making the Club a cornerstone of one of the most distinguished addresses in the country.

Our Club offers an array of world-class amenities, including a 10,000-square-foot fitness center featuring yoga, Pilates, and spin classes, as well as a serene spa for wellness and rejuvenation. The tennis center boasts nine Har-Tru clay courts and a 1,300-square-foot pro shop, catering to both recreational and competitive players.

Following the impact of Hurricane Ian in 2021, the Club has embarked on an ambitious $100 million renovation to reimagine our facilities. The new clubhouse—set to open in fall 2026—will embrace timeless West Indies architecture and offer an elevated member experience, featuring a coffee shop, three signature restaurants with indoor and outdoor dining overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, four bars, a banquet venue, a lap pool, and access to our pristine private beach.

The Banquet Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and executing all culinary aspects of banquets, private events, and special functions at the Port Royal Club. This role ensures exceptional food quality, presentation, and timing while maintaining the highest standards of safety and sanitation. The Banquet Chef collaborates closely with the Executive Chef and event teams to deliver a seamless dining experience that reflects the club’s commitment to excellence.

Position Summary

The Host/Hostess serves as the first and last point of contact for members and their guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience within an exclusive private club environment. This role requires a polished presence, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage reservations and guest flow with grace and efficiency.The Host is responsible for creating a warm, personalized welcome while maintaining the club’s standards of elegance, discretion, and hospitality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Member Reception & First Impressions

• Greet members and guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
• Address members by name whenever possible, creating a personalized and welcoming experience.
• Maintain a poised, friendly, and attentive demeanor at all times.
• Manage departures by thanking members and ensuring a positive final impression.

Reservations & Seating Management

• Manage reservations with accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion.
• Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize flow, service efficiency, and member preferences.
• Maintain awareness of dining room capacity, pacing, and table status.
• Communicate wait times clearly and professionally when necessary.

Dining Room Coordination

• Work closely with Servers, Server Assistants, and management to ensure smooth service flow.
• Monitor table progress and adjust seating plans as needed throughout service.
• Communicate VIP arrivals, special requests, and member preferences to the service team.
• Maintain a consistent awareness of the overall dining room experience.

Member Relations & Communication

• Handle member inquiries, requests, and special accommodations with professionalism and discretion.
• Maintain accurate member notes, preferences, and special occasions when applicable.
• Address concerns promptly and elevate issues to management when necessary.

Front Desk & Entrance Presentation

• Ensure the host stand and entrance area are immaculate, organized, and reflective of club standards.
• Maintain reservation systems, logs, and communication tools accurately.
• Present menus cleanly and appropriately when escorting members to tables.

Team Collaboration

• Support the service team to ensure a seamless and elevated dining experience.
• Assist with special events, private functions, and club activities as needed.
• Participate in pre-shift meetings and communicate relevant updates to the team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in luxury hospitality, fine dining, or private clubs preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with reservation systems is preferred.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to move throughout the dining room and entrance areas as needed.
