Principal Scientist, Research (Targeted Delivery)

Key Responsibilities Lead design and implementation of innovative immunization strategies, including identifying, selecting, and managing external immunization vendors (CROs). Establish and oversee high-throughput B cell screening and selection workflows. Develop and integrate robust Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows to rapidly identify and analyze antibody variable region sequences from screening campaigns. Design, execute, and automate high-throughput screening cascades to characterize antibody properties (affinity, specificity, function). Engineer complex antibody modalities (multispecific antibodies, nanobodies) and evaluate novel protein formats. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (protein science, pharmacology, translational science) to achieve project goals. Manage project timelines, resources, and data analysis; present findings to internal teams and senior leadership. Qualifications PhD in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or related field. 6+ years post-PhD biopharmaceutical industry experience focused on antibody discovery and engineering. Proven track record leading antibody discovery programs from inception to lead candidate delivery. Hands‑on single B cell isolation and screening; direct experience with Bruker Beacon platform required. Deep expertise in antibody cloning, expression, and sequence analysis; extensive experience with NGS library preparation and data interpretation. Experience developing and running high-throughput, automated screening assays. Experience managing external collaborations and CROs for immunization and discovery campaigns. Track record managing and developing research scientists (preferred). Location / Work Setup Onsite; primarily located in Cambridge, MA.
