Responsibilities:

• Promotes Elara Carings philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
• Performs direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patients physician to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Follows Plan of Care as established by the Physical Therapist and reports any changes in patient status promptly.
• Adheres to the State Practice Act Guidelines and provides care according to physicians orders and assessment data.
• Incorporates patient care goals established in the Plan of Care into therapy care.
• Instructs patients and families in the safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.
• Teaches patients and caregivers home therapy exercises and routines.
• Performs physical duties including lifting, transferring, and supporting patients up to 50 pounds.
• May work irregular or on-call hours as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
• 6+ months of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
• Able and willing to travel within branch or office coverage area (up to 50%).
• Must have a dependable vehicle, valid drivers license, and current auto insurance.
