We are looking for an attorney to join a respected law firm in Owings Mills, Maryland, supporting employers on workplace and litigation matters. This opportunity centers on labor and employment counsel while also offering exposure to broader civil disputes within a collaborative legal team. The role is well suited for a practitioner who enjoys direct client interaction, practical problem-solving, and building a long-term practice with meaningful responsibility.

Responsibilities:
• Advise employer clients on day-to-day workplace issues, personnel decisions, and risk-sensitive employment matters.
• Prepare, review, and refine workplace documents such as employment contracts, separation terms, policy manuals, and internal communications.
• Counsel organizations on hiring practices, accommodation requests, disciplinary processes, terminations, and related compliance considerations.
• Analyze wage-and-hour, worker classification, and regulatory questions to help clients align with applicable legal standards.
• Conduct workplace investigations, evaluate findings, and recommend appropriate legal and strategic responses.
• Draft submissions for government and administrative agencies and advocate for clients during hearings, mediations, and other employment-related proceedings.
• Represent clients in employment disputes and contribute to a broader civil litigation caseload, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and case strategy.
• Deliver practical training and guidance to managers and leadership teams on compliance obligations and sound employment practices.
• Provide timely counsel during sensitive employee relations issues and other high-impact personnel situations requiring careful legal judgment.

• At least 3 years of legal experience, with roughly 4 or more years preferred for this position.

• Background in labor and employment law is preferred, though attorneys from related litigation practices will be considered.

• Experience in insurance defense, including matters involving employment practices liability, is valued.

• Admission to the Maryland Bar is required, or the ability to secure admission promptly.

• Demonstrated strength in legal research, persuasive writing, oral advocacy, and client advising.

• Ability to manage files independently while also working effectively within a team-based practice.

• Experience handling civil litigation tasks such as drafting motions, briefing, discovery, and case development.
