Direct Support Professional - RISE Day Program - Mon-Fri 9:00am-3:00pm - 30 hours

Description Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm – 30 hours per week. Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a non‑profit organization supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing residential, vocational, recreation, and day support services. About the Role Brc is seeking a professional, caring, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in our RISE (Respect, Inclusion, Support, Empowerment) Day Program. In this position you will make an impactful and meaningful difference in someone else’s life every day. Services include but are not limited to assisting individuals, promoting personal growth and reaching their goals, daily activities, providing personal care, and attending community and social activities. Applicants with no experience or seeking a career change are encouraged to apply – we will train the right candidates. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. At least 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation. Obtain and maintain required medication certification. Benefits Paid time off (with increases over years of service). Responsibilities Provide opportunities for learning new skills and independence by working on individuals’ goals and plans. Transport individuals to and from programs and activities. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with all guidelines and maintain accurate documentation. Provide a safe and nurturing environment where individuals are treated with dignity and respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities, and are protected from abuse or neglect. Electronically record daily activities while maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect identity and HIPAA information. Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online). Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Efforts May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.
