Put your skills to work supporting a welcoming elementary environment as an ASL Paraprofessional! This rewarding, contract-based opportunity is perfect for those fluent in American Sign Language, eager to make a meaningful impact with a young student. You’ll work full time (32 hours per week) with an elementary-aged male student, fostering communication and learning in a supportive, collaborative school setting.
What You’ll Need:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential
- Previous paraprofessional experience in school settings strongly preferred
- Ability to engage and motivate elementary-aged students, with a caring, patient approach
- Willingness to collaborate closely with teachers and specialists
- No EIPA requirement for this position
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a young student throughout the school day, facilitating communication via ASL
- Assist with instructional activities and promote social-emotional engagement
- Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet the student’s individual needs
- Encourage independence and self-advocacy while providing just-right assistance
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment within the elementary school community
- Participate in meetings or planning sessions as needed with instructional staff
