Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL); fluency required
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting preferred
• Positive, patient, and collaborative approach to working with children
• Strong communication skills with both students and school staff
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to support and encourage the student throughout the school day

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to an elementary male student, facilitating communication and access to classroom activities using ASL
• Assist with academic tasks and assignments under the guidance of teachers
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
• Help the student participate in activities, transitions, and social interactions
• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers and other support staff
• Support the student's individual needs while maintaining confidentiality
• Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the educational team
