Director of Operations (Franchise / Multi-Unit Leadership) Edison, NJ | Competitive Compensation + Bonus Potential About the Opportunity We’re partnering with a high‑growth, entrepreneurial organization in Edison, NJ that’s hiring a Director of Operations to help scale and strengthen execution across the business. This is a leadership role for someone who understands franchise or multi‑unit environments and knows how to build structure, drive consistency, and improve performance across locations/teams. This is not a “keep things steady” role. They want a builder—someone who’s led operations in a fast‑moving business, tightened up processes, created accountability, and driven measurable results. What You’ll Be Doing Lead day‑to‑day operations with a focus on consistency, performance, and scalable execution. Drive franchise/multi‑unit operational standards across locations: processes, compliance, training, and service delivery. Build and improve SOPs, playbooks, and operating rhythms to keep teams aligned and executing. Create and run KPI scorecards and dashboards; lead weekly/monthly performance reviews. Identify operational gaps (people, process, systems) and implement solutions that stick. Improve cost control, scheduling, vendor management, and operational efficiency. Partner with leadership on growth initiatives: new locations, expansion readiness, and rollout execution. Strengthen leadership across the field—coaching managers, setting expectations, and holding accountability. Own cross‑functional alignment between operations, finance, sales/marketing, and support teams. What They’re Looking For 5+ years of operations leadership experience with clear ownership of performance and execution. Strong franchise, multi‑unit, or location‑based operations background (must‑have). Proven success building structure: SOPs, training, KPIs, accountability cadences, and operational playbooks. Strong people leadership—can coach, elevate, and hold leaders accountable without hand‑holding. Analytical and metrics‑driven (strong Excel; comfortable with dashboards and operational reporting). Comfortable in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities shift and solutions need to be practical.
