About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Active RN license - ACLS certification - BLS certification - ICU experience Description: The unit consists of 20 beds. Patient ratios are typically 2:1, with some cases requiring 1:1 depending on acuity. Occasional nurse externs work as techs on the unit. Equipment includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, EV 1000, and traction systems. Documentations are managed through Meditech. The scheduling requirement includes a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule. Schedules are created in 4-week increments with some self-scheduling available. The manager may adjust shifts to ensure balanced staffing. Contract labor is the first to float when staffing needs arise. If floating occurs, contract labor is expected to assist in med/surg areas as needed. Ensuring attentive and compassionate care to patients and families is essential. Advanced skills include trauma experience and familiarity with procedures such as central line insertions, arterial line insertions, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions. Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) are the required uniform.
