Job Description Join our Cardiovascular Recovery Unit! Full‑time, day shift position located at Saint Luke’s East/Lee’s Summit. Responsibilities Functions independently and is accountable for utilizing the nursing process. Coordinates care for a group of patients with the multidisciplinary team. Delegates tasks appropriately. Identifies hospital resources. Serves as a clinical resource for new employees. Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within the unit or department. Demonstrates ability to manage care within the established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state. Appropriately triages patients and prioritizes needs, displaying a caring and responsive attitude. Initiates care to stabilize patients and assists in managing life‑support needs by collaborating with physicians and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures. Collects detailed patient history and symptoms, including vital signs, and provides appropriate care in a timely and cost‑effective manner. Collects laboratory samples and performs laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures. Reports adverse treatments or medications in accordance with current policies and procedures. Prepares patient meals. Participates in QAPI activities, including accreditation preparation and survey processes, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards. Requirements Applicable experience: less than 1 year. Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross). Registered Nurse license. Associate degree in nursing.
