Process Engineer

Job Title Process Engineer Summary The Process Engineer owns production area performance, resolves daily issues, supports operators, and drives continuous improvements. They focus on achieving targets in EHS, quality, reliability, productivity, and stable operations while supporting key CapEx and improvement initiatives. This role leads and collaborates with cross‑functional teams and supports the transfer of Global Process Technology and new product introductions through the NPI/NPT process. On‑site presence is required five days a week, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities EHS Lead strict compliance with EHS regulations for installation, modification, and production processes. Maintain high regard for personal safety and safety of company assets, employees, and the public. Own MOCs for the area of responsibility. Adjust safety considerations (SVA, PHA) with EHS; analyze safety failure consequences. Ensure compliance with Momentive’s EHS Management System. Participate in exposure reduction events. Compliance Ensure compliance with legal and internal safety, environmental, and health standards. Document the area(s) of responsibility (Manufacturing Instructions, MOC process, Operating Manual). Operations Produce products on schedule and with quality focus; collaborate with the SIOP team to optimize planning. Troubleshoot production, quality, reliability, and emergency situations. Monitor performance using key metrics/KPIs; lead improvement activities. Participate in audits; follow up on actions and document change controls. Ensure product meets QC specifications; lead quality investigations and non‑conformance reporting. Coordinate shift transfer activities with APCs and shift leaders. Reduce OOS and SMI incidents. Conduct root cause analysis for unplanned events and near‑miss incidents. Provide process technology and operation training. Develop SOPs; train and qualify operators. Participate in forward‑look quality events; coordinate recommended actions. Process Development/Improvement Support process development and lead optimization programs. Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction using Lean and Six Sigma. Introduce new products in support of Process Technology. Research improvements to optimize raw material yield, reduce waste, increase capacity, and improve safety. Lead and sustain 5S practices in the unit. Communication & Documentation Implement rigorous change and documentation management (MOC). Identify, communicate, and drive short‑term modification work. Qualifications Bachelor’s or university degree in chemical engineering or equivalent. At least 6 years of industry experience. Strong safety consciousness and awareness of EHS requirements. Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills; ability to analyze process data and use statistical analysis. Good understanding of business interrelationships, responsibility, and costs. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; highly motivated and energetic. Demonstrated ability to organize and motivate teams and drive change. Experience leading and supervising a diverse workforce and contractors. Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of DCS. Preferred Skills Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and Excel. Experience with Six Sigma, SAP, and ISO systems. Certified Green Belt and practical process optimization experience. Experience in a multi‑national chemical company. Experience in new production and technical development of new processes. Prior experience in maintenance and reliability. Knowledge of maintenance workflow, rotating equipment, and pressure systems. What We Offer Base Pay Range: $95,500 - $140,250 The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable. Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company’s incentive plans, the Company’s financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
