Store Manager in Training (MIT)

Overview Insomnia Cookies is actively hiring for a full‑time hourly Store Manager in Training (MIT) at our Morningside Heights store located at 1028 Amsterdam Ave in New York City. This role supports the Store Ops Manager by overseeing operations, training, and customer service in a fast‑paced environment. Base Pay Range $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr Perks & Compensation Eligibility for end‑of‑month store bonus Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, pet insurance) starting 60 days after employment $25.00 monthly cellphone stipend 10 days paid vacation + 2 paid Insomnia Personal Days of Wellness Free cookies with every shift Job stability with a rapidly growing company and achievable growth/promotion opportunities Fun, exciting team environment Manager‑on‑Duty duties during scheduled shifts when GM is absent Responsibilities Perform Manager‑on‑Duty during scheduled shifts when Store Ops Manager (GM) is not present Supervise, train, and coach 2‑5 team members in cookie sales and deliveries Lead new hourly staff onboarding and initial training Conduct initial interviews for potential hires (Crew, Shift Leaders, Delivery Drivers) in manager’s absence Support Manager with ordering, inventory control, and scheduling Hold staff accountable to Insomnia Cookies’ standards (baking, uniform, company policies) Ensure overall customer service excellence and upselling across the team Desired Skills & Experience At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail store Experience conducting in‑person interviews of hourly support staff Experience with POS systems Proficient with MS Office, Word and Applicant Tracking System Able to work a 4‑5 day week and 1‑2 mid/late shifts Thursday‑Sunday Must be 18+ and have legal eligibility to work in the United States Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level Employment Type Full‑time Job Function Sales and Business Development Industries Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain and Storage #J-18808-Ljbffr Insomnia Cookies
