Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel) in Atlanta, GA. This 13-week travel assignment starts September 8, 2026, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week and a shift pattern of 2x3 days. Earn between $1,621 and $1,718 per week. Work on a high-acuity surgical/trauma floor within a hospital setting. EPIC EMR experience is required; BLS is required and ACLS is preferred. No requests for time off (No RTO) allowed during the assignment. Minimum of 2 years’ Med Surg experience on a high-acuity unit. Population includes postoperative surgical patients, gunshot injuries, quadriplegic and paraplegic patients, with a 5:1 patient ratio. Support includes on-unit phlebotomists and a night unit secretary; nurse handoffs occur with the ED and admitting unit teams. This is a travel - temporary assignment with Healthforce Healthcare LLC. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for high-acuity surgical and trauma patients, including postoperative and complex cases such as gunshot injuries and spinal-related conditions.
- Monitor vital signs, respond to changes in patient status, administer medications, and perform ongoing assessments with timely physician and team communication.
- Collaborate with ED and admitting units to coordinate handoffs and ensure continuity of care during transitions.
- Document patient care accurately in the EPIC EMR, including assessments, medications, and care plans; coordinate with phlebotomy and other support staff.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort on a unit with a 5:1 patient ratio; work with Nursing Support Techs and night unit secretary to support workflow.
- Adhere to hospital policies and standards, including no approved time off during the assignment and adherence to shift schedules.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience on a high-acuity surgical/trauma unit
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Shift availability: able to work assigned 2x3 day schedule (12-hour shifts)
- No approved time off (No RTO) during the assignment
- Ability to work effectively on a high-acuity unit with diverse surgical/trauma patient populations
