About the Role
The Company is in search of a dynamic Vice President of Development to lead its corporate development efforts. The successful candidate will be a passionate and purpose-driven individual with a clever approach to business. This leadership role is pivotal in fostering the company's representation, awareness, and reputation within the hotel ownership and development community. The Vice President of Development will be responsible for managing and coordinating the creation of development collateral, initiating and managing new leads and relationships, and serving as a key contact during the deal evaluation and negotiation phases. Collaboration with various internal teams is essential to understand and highlight the company's competitive advantages, engage in client communication, and ensure alignment with the company's goals. Applicants for the Vice President of Development position at the company should have a university or college degree, or equivalent work experience, with a minimum of 8 years in hotel business development. A proven track record of originating and executing hotel deals, particularly within the lifestyle hotel sector, is required. The role demands a self-starter with strong financial acumen, the ability to evaluate hotel operating pro-forma, and a proactive approach to maintaining development leads. The ideal candidate will have experience with hotel systems such as STR and CoStar, and possess the skills to collaborate, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities also include identifying key business segments, tracking market activities, and creating programs to address gaps and shortfalls. The role is highly strategic, with a focus on establishing brand-wide business development initiatives and providing counsel to executive management on brand and management terms.
