Business Operations Manager

Job Overview Pfizer’s Clinical Bioanalytics (CBx) Business Operations and Compliance Team in Cambridge, Massachusetts, seeks a Business Operations Manager to serve as a key point of contact and lead essential CBx processes, including finance, contracting, vendor management, quality management systems, document management, process systems, audit/inspection management, GSOP review, compliance, and data review/QC. The role focuses on driving efficiencies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting critical timelines for clinical assays. Primary Responsibilities Serve as contracting and finance subject‑matter expert and main point of contact for Clinical Assay Leads and external vendors. Draft, review, and execute CBx contracts, including MSAs with vendors. Engage external vendors and manage contract life‑cycle. Collaborate with Global Procurement to manage MSAs and related procurement activities. Develop and improve tools for tracking and real‑time analysis of CBx financial data. Coordinate with CBx, Finance, Clinical, and CRO teams to resolve issues and generate purchase orders and invoices. Provide operational support for multiple Business Operations initiatives within CBx. Act as SME for key systems/processes such as TMF, Portfolio on Demand, Buy on Demand, Veeva, and Submission‑Ready Document QC. Maintain best documentation practices, manage, store, and distribute contracts and reports. Perform redaction of vendor‑sensitive information for regulatory audits. Partner with functional lines to establish and maintain best practices. Prepare and review key CBx metrics on a quarterly and annual basis. Capture financial and bioanalytical study/report entries in the appropriate systems. Assist in creating job aids and internal process documentation. Ensure quality meets Pfizer standards while enhancing productivity. Basic Qualifications B.S. degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or M.S./M.A. degree with at least 3 years of experience in Pharma, CRO, or Sourcing Group(s). Experience in vendor oversight. Understanding of GxP principles (e.g., GCP, GCLP) within a regulated clinical or bioanalytical environment. Detail‑oriented with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Proven ability to multitask and work in a highly matrixed environment. Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications Background in regulated bioanalytical method validation and sample analysis. Familiarity with AI tools, Veeva, and/or document management systems (e.g., GDMS). Hands‑on experience leading or supporting negotiation and execution of bioanalytical vendor contracts. Strong time‑management skills and self‑driven attitude. Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, and support business operations. Ability to work independently and operate with minimal supervision. Experience in drug development. Non‑Standard Work Schedule, Travel, or Environmental Requirements Occasional travel to other Pfizer sites may be required. The position is hybrid with a combination of onsite and remote work. Compensation & Benefits The annual base salary ranges from $93,600 to $156,000, depending on experience and location. Eligible for Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of base salary and participation in long‑term incentive programs.
