Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a dynamic elementary environment near New Haven, CT, supporting students in grades K-4. This contract, full-time position runs from now until the end of the current school year and offers you the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners in a collaborative setting. The workday is from 7:30 AM to 3:50 PM, with some flexibility if needed.
Step into a school community that values professionalism—business casual attire is the standard Monday through Thursday, with jeans and a professional top welcome on Fridays. Whether you're experienced with all K-4 grades or hold licensure in just one, your application is encouraged and valued.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for K-4 (all certifications for K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade are welcome)
- Previous experience teaching in elementary or kindergarten settings preferred
- Strong skills in developing and implementing IEPs
- Ability to provide supportive instruction through push-in and pull-out models
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and team members
Your Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver differentiated lessons to meet diverse student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Manage caseloads, maintain accurate documentation, and monitor student progress
- Adapt instructional methods based on individual IEP goals
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom climate for all learners
