Description

• Conduct assessments for patients ranging from children to older adults utilizing both standardized tests and observational methods.
• Design customized treatment plans that target short-term milestones as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions tailored to enhance communication, language skills, fluency, voice quality, and eating/swallowing capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care strategies.
• Educate patients and families to bolster progress outside the therapy room.
• Occasionally perform inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Maintain precise and timely documentation in adherence to state, federal, and organizational stipulations.
• Engage in continued education and collaboration with peers to stay abreast of current developments in the field.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 30 days of hiring.
