Medical Surgical Oncology - Travel Registered Nurse- $2130 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: - Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Experience with chest tubes and PleurX chest tubes preferred.

Unit Details: - General MedSurg patients, some post-op lap chole and lap appy cases, and no post-op ortho. - Oncology patients with complications including neutropenic precautions, pneumonia, and infections. - Permanent nurses administer chemotherapy. - Heparin is the only drip; no cardiac drips. - Uses Phillips telemetry monitors with a central monitor tech for the hospital. - Frequent chest tubes; malignant patients often go home with PleurX chest tubes. - Occasional psych patients may be 1:1 with a sitter. - Charge nurse available 24/7; nights may take a patient assignment. - CPAP and BiPAP only; RT manages.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend (Sat/Sun). - Holidays rotate with permanent staff.

Floating Requirements: - Float to any MedSurg/Tele unit.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required for submission
