About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required. License: Must have active Illinois nursing license to apply. Certifications: BLS and NIH required. ACLS preferred. Must-Have: Required work setting experience includes telemetry, neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. Required skills include cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Candidates must have experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Telemetry monitoring experience is necessary. Ability to use rapid response teams is essential. Post cardiac angiogram and post myocardial infarction experience is required. Candidates must manage pre/post cardiac catheterizations and surgeries. Experience with sheath removal is needed. Candidates must manage feeding tubes and pre/post hemodialysis. Experience in renal failure is required. Must have IV therapy skills, including accessing ports and managing arterial lines. Candidates should be able to administer blood products and manage central line care. Phlebotomy skills are necessary. Experience starting IVs is required. Description: The position involves providing nursing care in an intermediate care unit. Nurses will care for patients with various diagnoses. The unit is fast-paced with high patient throughput. Nurses typically have a patient ratio of 1:4. Charge nurses may take up to 4 patients as needed. Candidates must be comfortable caring for patients with tracheostomies and those on ventilators. Experience in managing complex medical cases is essential. Nurses must provide high-quality, patient-centered care. They will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills. Wound care and isolation precautions knowledge is required. Cerner experience is preferred. Candidates should have a familiarity with Level I trauma facilities.
