Location: 23400 Colonial Pkwy, Katy TX

Pay Rate: Hourly pay rate: $20.00 $24.50 depending on experience. $2.00/hour shift differential for second shift (after training on first shift). Overtime expected. Local candidates only. Potential for extension or conversion to full-time.

The Mechanical Technician Trainee or experience Mechanical Technician is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of equipment as per operational demands. The Mechanical Technician Trainee improves maintenance related nonproductive time ratio of the Product Line's assets within the Maintenance Base (MB), and improves maintenance efficiency and people productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain assigned equipment according to the pertinent maintenance program and compliant with the reliability centered maintenance strategy through adherence to the Computerized Maintenance Management System and standard work.
• Adhere to transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies, labor costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain.
• Comply with TLM Product Line standards.
• Participate in the continuous improvement culture, initiatives and improvement plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).
• Support continuous improvement efforts to improve asset turnaround time, which includes reducing downtime due to maintenance, parts and return authorization numbers, failures and work-in-process.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
• Implement CoSD projects, such as the planned repair and reuse of parts.
• Participate in failure investigations as assigned.
• Comply with the TLM Competency Management System.

Tear down and clean tools from oil rigs (wash bay, power washing, disassembly). Use basic hand tools such as drills and grinders. Perform basic troubleshooting and problem-solving. Support maintenance and production operations.

Experience and Skills:

• Minimum of 1 year of work experience; entry-level candidates are acceptable.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
• Willingness to work and learn.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems is a plus.

Team Structure: Team-oriented environment with interdependent tasks.

Training: Conducted locally. Second shift hires will train on first shift for 3060 days.

Shift/Hours:

• First Shift: 7:00 AM 5:00 PM (or until production ends).
• Second Shift: 3:00 PM 1:00 AM.
• Weekend work required every other weekend (Saturday shifts are 810 hours).

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Safety: PPE issued: hard hat, standard safety glasses. Worker must provide steel-toed boots and prescription safety glasses if needed.

Interview Process: In-person interviews at Katy facility. Conducted by hiring manager and team leads. Multiple candidates may be scheduled simultaneously.

Education/Certification Requirements: No formal education or certifications required. High school graduates with mechanical aptitude are acceptable. Experience with cranes/forklifts is helpful; SLB will recertify as needed.
