YL Staff Associate I, Greater Puyallup Valley

Job Summary Young Life Staff Associate I – A youth ministry role focused on downtown Puyallup with responsibilities including spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and ministry support. Responsibilities Spiritually develop youth by incorporating prayer, fellowship, and church relationships, and lead teams and individuals in spiritual development. Equipping leaders, committee, and staff through recruitment, volunteer care, training, supervision, and vision casting. Develop and execute resource strategies such as fundraising events, donor care, public relations, and networking with key community leaders. Lead direct ministry activities, including contact work, club operations, Campaigners, and summer/camp seasons. Handle ministry support tasks such as accounting, administration, communications, data management, and strategic planning. Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the role’s gift, experience, and community needs. Training Core Training – Phase One includes New Staff Training, Leadership I, Leadership II, Apologetics, and a Winter Training course, to be completed within the first two years and may involve regional or area training. Qualifications Experience in direct youth ministry. Proven relational skills with children and adults. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. College degree preferred. Work Conditions Includes extreme camp conditions such as heat, cold, dirt, long hours, hiking, horseback riding, boating, and other physical demands. Staff must be able to handle these conditions.
