General Manager — Soda Club Denver

Soda Club is looking for a General Manager who can lead a busy dining room with warmth, clarity, and a strong sense of ownership. Our Denver restaurant brings together pasta made fresh daily, Roman-style pinsa, an adventurous wine list, and cocktails built for a long evening at the table. We want service that feels attentive and generous without unnecessary formality.

The GM sets the tone for that experience. You’ll be present on the floor, directing the room as it changes, supporting the kitchen and bar, and giving the team clear priorities before and during service. When pacing slips or a guest needs help, you’ll step in early, make a decision, and follow through.

What you’ll own

• Lead daily service, including reservations, staffing, table pacing, guest recovery, and the handoff between the dining room and kitchen.
• Run focused preshifts that prepare the team for the night’s bookings, menu changes, and service priorities.
• Hire, train, coach, and hold managers and staff to clear standards of hospitality, conduct, and teamwork.
• Partner closely with culinary and beverage leadership to improve communication, consistency, and the guest experience.
• Own scheduling, labor management, reporting, and the systems that keep the restaurant organized.
• Write useful end-of-day reports, lead weekly accountability meetings, and turn recurring problems into specific actions.

The role has five core responsibilities:

1. Property Management: Keep the restaurant ready for service every day. Oversee opening and closing, cleanliness, equipment, repairs, deliveries, and the details of the space that affect guests and staff.
2. Staff Management: Recruit, train, schedule, and coach the team. Set clear service standards, run focused preshifts, develop managers, and follow through on performance and accountability.
3. Health & Hygiene: Maintain strong sanitation and food safety practices. Keep certifications and inspection requirements current, and ensure the team follows clear allergy procedures.
4. Administration: Own the systems behind a well-run restaurant, including labor and cost oversight, reservations, ordering, inventory, nightly reports, and weekly scorecards and accountability meetings. Turn what you learn into specific improvements.
5. Company Culture: Lead by example and uphold Overthrow Hospitality’s core values. Build trust across the dining room, kitchen, and bar; develop emerging leaders; and make the restaurant a place where people are proud to work.

You should have substantial restaurant management experience, sound financial judgment, and the ability to lead confidently during a demanding service. Just as important, you should enjoy developing people. We’re looking for someone who notices what the team needs, communicates directly, and takes pride in making everyone around them better at their work.
