Details Level III Neonatal ICU setting caring for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00 13-week assignment length Care for infants requiring advanced respiratory support, hemodynamic support, and therapeutic hypothermia/cooling Use of ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen Management of central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC) Administration and titration of IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products Requirements Active RN license (TN or Compact) required Current BLS (AHA) and NRP (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics) certifications required Minimum 1 year of experience required; 3-4 years of strong Level III NICU experience preferred Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required Must be able to independently manage complex, high-acuity NICU patients Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start STABLE certification may be required based on facility policy Additional Information Provide direct nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization Recognize and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration and emergency situations Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and closely monitor changes in patient condition Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team Provide education and emotional support to parents and families throughout the infant's hospitalization Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Previous travel experience preferred, though the role may be open to first-time travelers Radius rule applies allowing local candidates but at a reduced pay rate, with mileage varying by state Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address COVID vaccination is not required Discuss assignment extension with manager approximately 45 days before end date American Traveler Job ID P-750299.
