Tech - X-ray/Rad Tech

Job Summary:
The X-ray/Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures to produce high-quality radiographic images, ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role involves operating imaging equipment, positioning patients, and adhering to safety protocols to support accurate diagnosis.

Responsibilities:

• Operate diagnostic imaging equipment, adjusting technical factors such as kVp, mA, and time to optimize image quality.
• Position patients appropriately, employing immobilization techniques and ensuring proper identification of body parts to capture accurate views.
• Transport, transfer, and handle patients safely, confirming exam preparations and evaluating patient conditions to prevent hazards.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform quality assurance on films and machinery, and coordinate with vendors for repairs when necessary.
• Maintain infection control principles, follow safety procedures, and handle confidential information in compliance with HIPAA.
• Document procedures accurately, review scheduled exams for accuracy, and ensure timely completion and archiving of diagnostic images.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an ARRT-approved radiologic technologist program and certified by the ARRT(R).
• Hold a valid Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification, RT (R).
• CPR (Healthcare Provider level) certification within three months of hire.
• Demonstrate competency in equipment operation, troubleshooting, and patient care across all age groups.
• Apply critical thinking, safe judgment, and ethical practices in all job responsibilities.
