Maintenance Technician II

Position Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital – Maintenance Technician Type: Regular Schedule: Full‑time, Day Shift Competitive pay with shift differentials available if/when working weekends. Requires two years of experience. Job Summary Performs preventive and corrective maintenance related to the facilities, equipment and associated systems, including fire systems, tube system, equipment repair, nurse call, infant abduction system, life safety components, paging system, Med Gas systems, and locks and door repair. Responsibilities Performs repairs according to work orders or verbal instructions and compiles proper documentation following established policies and procedures. Identifies and requests parts and components needed to complete tasks. Works with vendors, contractors, and factory representatives regarding repair and replacement of equipment. Assists contractors and other personnel with connections and shut‑offs for water and fire systems. Performs basic plumbing and electrical repairs and appliance repairs including changing light bulbs, replacing ballasts and installation of light fixtures. Performs carpentry and minor construction projects including installation and repair of drywall, walls, flooring, ceramic tile, cabinetry, countertops, shelving and painting. Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment including debris/trash removal, heavy lifting/moving of materials and equipment, floor‑sweeping and material storage. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education / Experience: Two years of experience required. Professional License / Certification: None required. Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking, frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing 0–25 lbs, frequent reaching, gripping, keyboard use/data entry, frequent vision use (near 20 inches or less, far 20 feet or more), hearing for alarms, occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements, occasional lifting/carrying of 25–50 lbs, occasional vision to judge distances and spatial relationships, rare use of smell, and rare driving.
