JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-134316 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Kingsport, Tennessee Facility: Holston Valley Medical Center Health System: SCP Health - Locums Coverage Period: Aug 29, 2026 - Ongoing Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered CALL COVERAGE Call Required: No JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, or AOA) Licenses: Active unrestricted TN Medical license and DEA with TN address (Schedules 2 5) DEA / CDS: Active DEA with TN address required Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC in EM); NRP (for non ABEM providers) Experience: Residency training in Emergency Medicine required; new graduates within 12 months accepted Other Qualifications: Preeclampsia Eclampsia CME required initially and every 2 years; case logs for past 2 years; documentation for special procedures; must supervise NPs and PAs DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the ED. Supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Perform procedures as required (e.g., suturing, intubation, central line placement). Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR. Coordinate with specialists and ancillary staff for patient management and discharges.
